9th May 2013
The Saint Hilarion Next Generation Quiz Night took place on Friday 3 May with over 300 people in attendance and a great night was enjoyed by all.
The event was staged by our aptly named Next Generation Committee, all younger members of our community who share a connection with our history and our values. They are all busy professionals so we greatly appreciate the time they make available to help our with our fundraising efforts while also helping to promote the caring service that we offer to our elderly residents and their families.
Anthony Fazzalari was once again our fantastic Quiz Master and put together a diverse range of questions under topics that included food & grog, sport, famous logos, music, film & television, history and the most popular of all, "guess the song" where live music is played and lots of singing along takes place - Tom Jones and Delilah really raising the roof! We also infused the evening with a couple of rounds of Heads & Tails (see above image) which provided further opportunities for our guests to win prizes.
At the end of the Quiz we had a tie for first place, so in a sudden death playoff the capital of Iceland was all that separated two very smart tables.
Our thanks to everyone who attended, our sponsors, auction items donors and in particular, the Next Generation Committee who ensured we raised $16,000 after all expenses - another great result! See you again in 2014.
28th March 2013
On Tuesday 26 March 2013 we were delighted to welcome His Excellency Rear Admiral Kevin Scarce AC CSC RANR, Governor of South Australia, as our special guest at our March quarter Saint Hilarion STAR CLUB Corporate Networking Forum.
His Excellency was interviewed in an informal Question & Answer session and our STAR CLUB guests were elightened and entertained as topics covered included his upbringing in South Australia, his extensive career in the Navy, and the future of the South Australian economy. It was revealed that The Governor also takes a great interest in the fortunes of Port Adelaide in the AFL and Central District in the SANFL.
We were also pleased to hear His Excellency highlight the increasing importance of the aged care sector while praising the work of the Saint Hilarion community.
The evening was held at Clinpath Laboratories, the highly respected South Australian patholgy group and major partner of Saint Hialrion Aged Care. While swapping business cards and discussing a range of topics, our 50 guests enjoyed delicious hors d'oeuvres and premium South Australian wines.
