The South Australian Italian Golf Club Inc (SAIGC) was established in September 1989 by a few very keen and dedicated golfers with a view to promoting and encouraging the sport of golf amongst, in particular, the Italian community in South Australia.

Membership of the SAIGC has grown very quickly and at present the Club has over 200 members, both male and female. The SAIGC was the second registered ‘Italian’ golf club in the world outside of Italy – the first being the Victorian Italian Golf Association.

The SAIGC conducts monthly tournaments on Sundays at various golf clubs, both private and public, within both metropolitan Adelaide and country SA. In addition a number of midweek tournaments, where members are allowed to bring guests, are held by the club during the year. Some of the courses played midweek include the most prestigious courses in Adelaide such as Grange, Royal Adelaide and Kooyonga, giving golfers the opportunity to play at some courses they would otherwise not have the opportunity of playing.
